The aptitude test for B.F.A. courses will consist of the following:
Object Drawing: Drawing of 2/3 objects with light and shade in pencil or charcoal on

1/2 imperial size paperfor a duration of 1.30 hrs.of 65 marks.
               
Composition: Composition from memory on a given subject in Water, Poster, or Pastel
                Colours on 1/2 imperial size paperfor a duration of 1.30 hrs.of 65 marks.


General Knowledge: General Knowledge about art ( written exam) for 0.30 hr.of 20 marks.


Note: One good quality white drawing sheet of 1/2 imperial size will be provided by the College. All other material like Drawing Board (1/2 imperial size) colours should be brought by the candidates of their own while coming for the Aptitude test.


Candidates obtaining 40 percent aggregate (In case of SC/ST, 35%) marks in the aptitude test will qualify for admission to any of the courses offered.
The final selection of the candidates for admission to the college will be made on the basis of their performance in the aptitude test and in the public academic examination passed by the candidates. For this purpose, 60 per cent weight age will be given to aptitude test and 40 per cent to the academic examination.
Candidates securing equal marks will be bracketed together. Their inter-se merit will be determined in accordance with the following criteria:

  • Candidate senior in age shall rank higher in order of merit.
  • In the case of tie in age also, a candidate getting higher percentage of marks in the qualifying examination shall rank higher in order of merit.

Method of Selection:
(iv) Candidates obtaining 40 percent aggregate (In case of SC/ST, 35%) marks in the aptitude test will qualify for admission to any of the courses offered.
(v) The final selection of the candidates for admission to the college will be made on the basis of their performance in the aptitude test and in the public academic examination passed by the candidates. (vi) The merit list will be displayed on the college Notice Board and sent for publication in The Tribune, Indian Express on 6th July 2007 and some other newspapers. No separate information with regard to merit list will be sent to the candidates.

      • Candidate selected as per merit list will have to appear in person before admission- committee along with the original documents to be retained by college authorities for the purpose of registration with  Panjab University as per schedule given below :

General Pool                            10-07-2007 at 10:00 a.m.(First Counselling)
U.T. Pool Candidates                12-07-2007 at 9.30 a.m.(First Counselling)

            

 

Once the admission is allowed by the Admission Committee to the candidate as per his/her option, fee will be deposited by the selected candidates on the spot. While coming to appear before the Admission Committee, the candidates must bring with them the following original certificates copies of which were attached as per list given along with the original Medical Certificate from any Registered Medical Practitioner regarding the fitness for study.

      • Candidate will give his/her option for any of the four specializations viz. Painting, Sculpture, Graphics (Print-making) and Applied Art,  in which he/she wants to study at the time of counseling/ interview on 10th July, 2007 for General Pool and 12th July, 2007 for U.T. Pool, in order of merit subject to availability of seat.

Only those eligible candidates as per merit list, who present themselves before the Admission-Committee on 10th July, 2007 (for General Pool) and on 12th July, 2007 (for U.T. Pool) will have to report and mark their attendance at 10.00 a.m. and 9.30 a.m.

respectively, failing which they will not be eligible for subsequent counseling/ interview.
Those candidates who are offered admission to any of the disciplines available at the time of admission on the specific date but refuse to take admission in available discipline shall not be considered for admission later.


A candidate who reports late on the day of counseling, interview will not be eligible for the discipline according to his/her original merit position but will be offered a seat in the discipline where the seat is available at that time.

  •  If the requisite number of SC/ST or any other reserved category candidates of UT Pool/General Pool are not available, the seats will be filled up from the general category candidates.
  • The regular classes of B.F.A. 1st year shall commence from 16th July 2007.
  • The admission of those students who absent themselves from classes continuously for two weeks without the prior permission of the Principal shall stand automatically cancelled and their seats shall be offered to the next candidate on the merit list at the time of second counseling/ interview, scheduled for 27th July, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. All the original merit list candidates already admitted shall also be eligible to appear before the Admission Committee on 27th July, 2007.
  • All admissions are provisional and subject to the approval of Panjab University. The college will not be responsible in case admission of candidates is not approved by the University due to any reason whatsoever, e.g. for giving wrong information, concealing necessary certificate/testimonials, equivalencies. The students who are admitted to the college are required to submit his/her latest address to the college and change, if any, during the period of study also is to be intimated as and when this takes place.

There shall be no re-evaluation/re-checking of answer-sheets. Request for seeing the answer-sheets by the candidates shall not be entertained. The evaluation once done by the college shall be final.


All the eligible Candidates obtaining 40 percent aggregate (In case of SC/ST, 35%) marks in the aptitude test will qualify for consideration for admission to any of the courses offered.
