Hostel Accommodation

The College strives to provide adequate accommodation to regular students. Separate Hostel accommodation is available for outstation students. Seats for outstation boys are available in the International Hostel, Sector15, Chandigarh, approximately one kilometer from the college campus. Common room, a dinning hall and a kitchen are housed in the boys hostel. An outdoor sports ground is attached to the hall, More over other facilities like indoor spots and gym is also existing. imited seats are available for out station girls in the Hostels of Home Science College Sector10, Chandigarh and College of Architecture

The college invites experts and professionals of national and International repute to teach as visiting faculty and give special demonstration /Lectures to students and faculty in a form of workshops.

Computer Centre

The college has full-fledged air-conditioned computer labs in BFA/MFA to train students in typography and Graphic Design. Student especially  from Applied Art. Students work on computers with various software’s related to Art feild like Photo Paint, Corel Drew, Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.

Library
The Institution maintains its own library, which has an extensive collection of almost 8000 books on various subjects. At any learning institution the Library often forms crux of all that one has to learn. We believe that marinating an unto date and comprehensive Library is one of our foremost tasks The College can boast of having one of the best visual Art Libraries in the Northern India, The wide-ranging collection of art books on Fine Arts, Architecture, Painting, Sculpture, Graphic Design, Advertising, Literature, Photography, Film Art and Crafts. Sports
The college provides facilities for indoor and outdoor games such as Basket Ball, Volley Ball, Table Tennis and Badminton. Students and faculty both avail of its facilities under the supervision and guidance of the physical Education Director of the college.  The students are also encouraged to actively participate in the annual inter class and inter College tournaments organised by this Institution and Panjab University each year and gain the experience of competing with students from other college and the University. Annual athletic meet held in college every year, All the students and even faculty participate in various games very enthusiastically like long jump, high jump and other games. A fully equipped gymnasium is going to set up for the students and staff in near future.

Studios
The Institution has big studios with a full-fledged lighting and infrastructure facilities. Where  the students can be seen doing their creative workout. The studios designed by Le Corbusier are famous for their ample natural lighting in all conditions. Apparently built on the scale of corbusier’s own Paris studios, they are spacious and airy with high ceilings and huge skylights.

Galleries
The college galleries are one of the best in the city. Spacious and well- lit they are host to many shows throughout the year by invited artists from all over the country and world. They are also the venue for the college’s annual art exhibition, the exhibition of advertising campaign and the special project by final year student’s degree show of all specializations.

Auditorium
The college auditorium is venue for all film screenings, slide shows, and special lectures, Convocations and dramatic shows as well as all college functions. The German film festival in India was held here. It was also the venue for the Indian premiere of “the burrow’ a mime performance by French artists Frederic Herrera and Christopher Traineau.

Medical Facilities

General First Aid facilities are available in the college. More over expert and medical professionals visit this Institution and organize medical camp from time to time and do the proper medical check up like Eye testing Camp.      

Canteen Citco

The facility of a canteen to serve Breakfast, Snacks Tea and Coffee etc to the staff and students  is available to the college at Stop and Stairs at Leisure Valley adjoin to the college is being run by Citco

Art material Shop

An Art material Shop is available in the college to cater to the needs of the staff and students requirements of all types of art material and stationery items.

Alumni Association
A Students’ body “Alumni Association of Government College of Art, Chandigarh exists in the college to promote students welfare and co-curricular activities. The association functions as a nodal agency for main ting of the Institution through their exchange of professional knowledge and experience with students and faculty.

Kala Maitri”,Alumni Association of Government College of Art, Chandigarh is established with a vision to bind the old students into one luminous halo, This alliance would serve as a platform to interact with the alumnus, which would help in improving the standard of art education in this region and also an aim to carry forward the precious legacy of this glorious Art Institution through their artistic endeavors.  Primarily this association acts as a forum where alumnai of the college may continue links not only with faculty but with the current students as well. The association is to provide a forum where students currently enrolled in college may establish professional links with its alumni.
The Association work in promoting the art in the region through visual Arts such as Exhibitions, Work-shops Seminars, and Art lectures, Slide shows etc. this is of great benefit to the art teachers, art students and art lovers.
