AS PER THE POLICY OF CHANDIGARH ADMINISTRATION CONVEYED

1. 60% seats of the total sanctioned intake of the institution will be filled up from
amongst the students who pass their qualifying examination from schools/
colleges recognized by Chandigarh Administration and situated in the Union
Territory, Chandigarh, as a regular student of the said school/college. These
seats will be termed as ‘U.T. Pool’. The remaining 40% seats will be filled
from amongst the candidates who pass their qualifying examination from
the institutions other than those located in the Union Territory, Chandigarh
or otherwise. These seats will be termed as ‘General Pool’. The students,
whether belonging to reserved category or not, who have passed their
qualifying examination from the institutions located in the Union Territory,
Chandigarh but are not eligible for admission under U.T. Pool quota, are
eligible for admission in the GENERAL POOL quota.
2. The Chandigarh Administration vide letter No.19/1/3-IH(3)-2007/18322
dated 14.9.2007 has decided to waive off the domiciliary restriction of
minimum stay in the states/UT’s and condition of passing 10th & 12th standard
examination from the same state/UT in respect of wards of serving defence
personnel/ex-servicemen seeking admission in the institutions of Union
Territory, Chandigarh.
Minimum qualifications for admission to all the courses is 10+2 (12th Pass)
Examination with a minimum of 40 per cent marks (35 percent in case of SC/ST/OBC
candidates) or any other examination recognized by the Syndicate as equivalent to with a
minimum of 40 per cent marks.
(i) Candidates seeking admission to all the courses must apply on a prescribed form
appended with the prospectus. The prospectus shall be available on payment of Rs.
200/- in cash from the office of the college on all working days between 9.30 a.m. and
5.00 p.m., or can be had by registered post by sending a money order of Rs. 250/-
payable to the Principal, Government College of Art, Chandigarh.
(ii) The last date for submission of application in the prescribed form is 17.6.2011
Applications with documents attached in order as specified in the sub clause (iii) of
this para must reach the office of the Principal between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. on any
working day on or before 17.6.2011 Incomplete application without relevant
documents, not on prescribed form, or received after the expiry of the stipulated last
date shall not be entertained and stand rejected. The college, however, accepts no
responsibility for loss or delay in transit by post.
(iii) The application forms must be filled in by the candidates in their own handwriting
with two latest passport size photographs (one to be pasted on application form and
the other on Admit Card) should be accompanied by the Photostat of self-attested
documents attached in the order as mentioned hereunder:–
(a) Certificate as proof of having passed 10+2 (12th class or its equivalent of 10th
for Special Diploma) .
(b) Detailed Marks Sheet of 10+2 or its equivalent;
(c) Matriculation/equivalent examination certificate as proof of Date of birth
certificate;
(d) Character Certificate from School/College last attended (In case of any gap
period, the same must be accounted for by submitting an affidavit attested by
the 1st Class Magistrate);
(e) Documentary Proof in support of reservation claimed under SC/ST or any
other reserved category; and
(f) Registration Card (In case of only those candidates who are already registered
with any University);
(g) Self-addressed envelope appended with the Application form (for dispatching
Admit Cards).
(h) Certificate in respect of handicap for ‘Special Diploma’
(i) In case of OBC category, certificate of the competent authority mentioning he
annual income from all sources duly certifying that the candidate does not fall under
the category ‘Creamy Layer’ and belongs to OBC Category. |
